Jervon Hamilton is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He is a graduate of South Carolina State University, where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree. Mr. Hamilton earned his Masters of Arts degree from Argosy University, whereas he studied Community Counseling. Mr. Hamilton has been in the field of counseling (primarily offering CORE services) for 16 years and has provided counseling in the community to youth and adults some may describe as “at-risk.” He has experience offering treatment interventions for depressive disorders, substance abuse, conduct and behavioral disorders, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders.
Mr. Hamilton describes his theoretic orientation as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), whereas he utilizes redirection of negative thoughts or distortions (replacing them with positive and more accurate thoughts), support in building coping skills for stressful life situations, and offers other interventions to build rapport, comfortability, and therapeutic success. Mr. Hamilton works well with adolescents and adults of all backgrounds, and has been successful in using the CBT model.
