Mrs. Poythress is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with ten years of experience completing comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia State University before moving to Statesboro, Georgia to attend Georgia Southern University for graduate school. At GSU, she earned a Master of Education degree and an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology. She currently holds state and national certifications through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and the National Association of School Psychologists.

Mrs. Poythress has worked as a School Psychologist in the public school setting for the past eight years. In this role, she works with a diverse population of children with a variety of cognitive, academic, and social-emotional concerns. She has demonstrated expertise in identifying Specific Learning Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and various Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. Further, Mrs. Poythress has extensive knowledge in Response to Intervention and the Student Support Team process, Special Education evaluations and eligibility criteria, and Section 504 Eligibility and Accommodations Plans. She is passionate about identifying children with a variety of different challenges and providing recommendations based on their personal strengths and weaknesses.

Mrs. Poythress is a wife and mom of two. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.
